Heart Day
What “Heart Day” Means to Us
For us, the day that we dreaded for so long and that is never far from our thoughts, is now a day that has been celebrated ever since. The day our little guy had his first open heart surgery has become a big reason to celebrate in our house – it’s the day his tiny little heart was repaired and he was given a new lease on life. We realize many families will have multiple “Heart Days” and you can choose to recognize the first, the last, or all of them! Either way, this day can be a fun and memorable day for your heart warrior.
Celebration Ideas
Here are some fun ways to celebrate a Heart Day:
- “Happy Heart Day!” cake or cupcakes
- Celebration balloons
- A small gift (maybe heart-related)
- An experience (a trip to a park or zoo, something that keeps your family enjoying all the moments that day)
- Giving back to a local charity, your cardiac center, or another heart family (Ex: a donation drive or cooking a meal for the Ronald McDonald House, donating to Jack of Hearts-PA, Inc. or another charity in your child’s honor, or donating to a cardiac family in need)
Register Your Child’s Heart Day
